Raquel "Rokk" Gonzalez
My name is Raquel Gonzalez, and I was raised in Santa Maria, CA, where my family managed a strawberry farm. Our strawberries were award winning in several competitions and were known locally for their excellent quality. After graduating from school, I began a career with Verizon which took me to the San Jose area. The hard work ethic ingrained in me from working on the farm helped me climb the ladder at Verizon rapidly. Becoming the top representative for my region opened new doors for me. I became a licensed mortgage professional and realtor which was always a goal of mine from a young age. The mortgage industry is where I was given my nickname of "Rokky" or "Rokk". Whenever my colleagues had a difficult lending situation, they would say "give it to Rokky" and I would find a way to help the clients achieve their goals and dreams. As a business owner and professional designer, my skills in the financial and real estate industry remind me the importance of designing projects around the client's budget and presenting guiding them with realistic options that meet their needs. Ron DeFilippo
My name is Ron DeFilippo, and I grew up on Long Island in New York. I attended community college, earning my associate's degree in liberal arts before attending Dowling College School of Aviation, where I pursued a career as a professional airline pilot. I became a flight instructor and gave flight lessons to student pilots who were working toward their aviation goals before moving on to fly jets. I worked as a pilot for the commuter airlines and also in the private business jet industry which was a dream come true for me at the time. After life on the road began to wear on me, I made the decision to transition to a career path that would allow me to be home every night and provide a more rooted lifestyle. California was always one of my favorite locations to travel to as a pilot based on the east coast, due to its natural beauty and perfect weather. I loved the ocean, the mountains, and being able to visit the city if I wanted to. I eventually relocated to the Bay Area after hanging up my flying cap and spent several years working in the home improvement industry. Starting first in the replacement window industry as a design consultant and sales manager for one of the premier bay area window replacement companies. After 7 years of experience in the window industry, I looked to expand my horizons and found that landscaping design was the perfect fit for me, and I couldn't be happier to be partnered with Raquel to channel our efforts and hard work into our own business where we thrive at creating beautiful landscaping designs for our clients and managing each and every project with the highest level of care.
